August 20, 2008: Homer, Alaska

We started out this morning in Soldotna, and drove, along the coast of Cook Inlet, to Homer, where we spent the rest of the day.

We stayed two nights at Land's End in Homer. This was right at the end of Homer Spit, which was a really cool place to stay!

We had a great lunch at Boardwalk Fish and Chips, on the Spit... and dinner at Fat Olive's in Homer on the Mainland.

Two other very cool places to visit in Homer:

Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center
Pratt Museum

Now we are in the Homer area - Behind the Island and Ocean visitor center, there was lots of Fireweed!
The Homer area did a great job of posting birding locations

This Glaucous Winged Gull on the Homer Spit was stealing bait from a fisherman's truck!

There were lots of 'jellies' on the harbor here
