November 29, 2008: Grand Island and Niagara Falls Birding

Today we had a very brief outing to get out and enjoy the sunshine! We took a quick ride up to Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island, and Goat Island on Niagara Falls, before it got dark..

November 28, 2008: Lake Ontario Shore Birding

We took advantage of our day off today to go birding along the Lake Ontario shorline, from Olcott, to Rochester (map at the end of the post). Our main intent was to see some of the Snowy Owls that have been reported ... We were not successful, but still got a few semi-decent shots in...

November 10, 2008: First Accumulating Snow - Alden, NY

We had our first sticking snowfall of the season! It did not last long though... As you can see below, it looks like the garden is done!
