June 28, 2007: Turquoise Trail and Santa Fe, New Mexico (15 PHOTOS, 2 BIRD, 1 ANIMAL)

On this first day of the trip, we spent time in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe Area. We drove the Turquoise Trail to Santa Fe, spent the day there, and then headed to Espanola for the evening...

We started out with a great meal at the Owl Cafe, near our hotel ....

Next, some nice shots from the Turquoise Trail Scenie Byway (Rte 14 from east of Abq. to Santa Fe)

Now, we're in the Santa Fe area...

This House Finch is courting an uninterested female!
An interesting metal work along Canyon Road (lots of art galleries)
Interesting wind chimes (with an impending thunderstorm)

Nice view of Santa Fe and the valley from the ski road
