January 1, 2009: Birding the Lake Ontario Shore (Rochester)

We spent a little time today on the Lake Ontario Shore at Rochester, doing some birding. It was very cold! (mid-teens only). Not a whole lot of birds, but we did get our first Glaucous Gull shot, and also some interesting ice shots...

Today we headed out to Summerville Pier, in Charlotte (Rochester, New York) to get our lifer Red Knox out on the end of the pier (photo below)

December 30, 2007: Rochester Lake Ontario Shore Birding (New York) (9 BIRD PHOTOS)

More Lake Ontario birding in the Rochester area today, at Charlotte (Ontario Beach), and Irondequoit Bay Outlet. As usual for this time of year, the light was awful! We got a few decent shots anyway, and a nice new bird to photo! (See below)
