December 26, 2012: Birding and Snowstorm

We started out trying out my new camera, birding the Buffalo Waterfront (both Rich's Marina and Erie Basin Marina.  Below are some shots of Bonaparte's Gulls and an American Crow

December 31, 2008: Winter Snowstorm

A surprise storm dumped 12" today! This gave me a chance to post one more blog entry for 2008.... of all the snow!

March 9, 2008: Big Winter Storm (9 PHOTOS)

Here are some pictures from the major Winter Storm that affected this area (along with many other areas of the country) (Link).

The Buffalo NWS at the airport recorded a storm total of 21.6". A storm spotter in Alden reported 18.5". There was too much drifting at our house to tell exactly how much we got, but these totals sound about right. Photos below...

We did not get as much snow from the big winter storm as they anticipated. They were thinking 20-24", but it turned to rain for awhile, and out and out stopped for awhile. We still ended up with about a foot. Below are some photos of the yard....
