June 5, 2009: Birding Gregory Canyon (Boulder), and Pike Natl Forest/Pine Valley Ranch

Some more time for birding today. I stopped again in the morning at Gregory Canyon and this time got the Virginia's Warbler! Then in the evening, another stop at Pike National Forest and nearby Pine Valley Ranch. Still no luck on the Three-Toed Woodpecker! Thanks again to the Colorado Birders for all of their help, and Richard Stevens for the flower identifications..

June 4, 2009: Gregory Canyon (Boulder), Genesee Mountain Park (Denver), Pike National Forest

I had a little time today before and after the class to bird a few places near Broomfield: Gregory Canyon in Boulder (searching for Virginia's Warbler - no luck!). Then Genesee Mountain Park just west of Denver, and Pike National Forest southwest of Denver.
Thanks again to the Colorado Birders for all of their help! (and Richard Stevens for flower info!)

June 3, 2009: Birding Colorado (Pawnee National Grassland & Pike National Forest)

Today I had a little spare time in Colorado's North Front Range, and did some birding at two locations. The Pawnee National Grassland, in Weld County east of Fort Collins, is a really interesting place to visit! I birded the County Roads here, as well as the Crow Valley Campground.

After that, I had time for a stop a few hours south at Pike National Forest, southwest of Denver. Another awesome place!

I'd also like to thank the Colorado Birders for their great advice and website (http://home.att.net/~birdertoo/) They were extremely helpful! Thanks especially to Richard Stevens for the flower identifications!
