March 6, 2009: Birding Mira Loma and Redlands, California

Today, I birded again in the AM at Mira Loma, and finally got the Gray Flycatcher! (With the help of Madeline Bauer, who I enjoyed meeting and birding with!)

Then in the evening after class, made a brief stop at Caroline Park in Redlands (link) - nice place! Finally got the needed Wrentit there also! Thanks to Matt Baker of Redlands for that tip!

March 4, 2009: Birding Redlands, Mira Loma, and San Bernardino, California

Today I did not have as much time to bird. I drove down San Timoteo Canyon Road in Redlands briefly before class, and headed to Mira Loma again at lunch. After class was a quick drive up to the San Bernardino Airport area for Ferruginous Hawk (no luck).

March 2, 2009: Birding Hidden Valley (Riverside), Mira Loma, California and Falls Campground

I had some time to bird today early this morning before class, and then later in the day after class.

In the morning, I spent a little time at the Hidden Valley Nature Center in Riverside (link). At lunch, I made a quick stop over I-10 to Mira Loma to look for the Gray Flycatcher (no luck yet!), and then an attempt to drive up to Falls Creek Campground, east of Yucaipa. There was a lot of snow there, which I can always see at home, so I left!
