November 25, 2011: Niagara River Birding

Today we searched Fort Niagara on the U.S. side, and Niagara-on-the-Lake on the Canadian side, for the Razorbill.  We did see him but he was too far to get a photo.  Some other shots though...

December 1, 2007: Western NY Birding (Fort Niagara State Park, Beaver Island State Park) (5 PHOTOS, 2 BIRD, 1 MAMMAL)

We got a few photos today, while birding in two places: Fort Niagara State Park in Lewiston, NY, and Beaver Island State Park, in Grand Island, NY.

Fort Niagara State Park:
We did not find any winter finches this time, but this Red Fox was looking too!
It was clear enough to get a nice view of Toronto across the lake

November 25, 2007: Niagara County, NY Birding (Fort Niagara SP, Wilson Lakeshore)

We birded this morning in Niagara County. We began by going to Fort Niagara State Park, to search for some winter irruptive species that are being seen a lot this year! We found the Pine Grosbeaks, but not the Bohemian Waxwings. (2007-08 Winter Finch Irruption). After some time here, we headed to visit a friend in Wilson, NY where we also watched their feeders, and found a Redpoll!

Fort Niagara State Park:
Look for the Purple Finch among all the crabapple berries!
